I have been trying out a few search modules to improve the poor default Magento search. Honestly though these are mostly small issues and I definitely recommend sphinx search for any store. Instead of having to click the category tab and then click the category link, the tab should just load the category page immediately. There are only 2 things that I think a small issues that if changed would give it the ultimate positive review for me.ġ) during install, create all default searches automatically according to your user manualĢ) when searching and category is part of search result, make it more appealing somehow for customer to click on. My previous search solution literally took almost one full our just to reindex. But after you take a few minutes to create the searches according to their user manual, the search results are excellent. One downside is there is no default out of the box configuration so simply installing doesn't really do anything for you.
